The departmental team APF Club set a target of 142 runs to Tribhuvan Army Club in the Prime Minister's Cup Men's One Day National Cricket Tournament.
After the Army won the toss and chose to field at the extra take over ground in Tilottama, Rupandehi on Monday, APF, who came into bat first, lost all wickets in 42 overs and made a total of 141 runs.
Sandeep Zora played a half century innings of 65 runs for APF . Zora hit 9 fours in 91 balls . Apart from Amar Rautela and Bhuvan Karki scoring identical 11/11 runs, the other batsmen could not score runs in double figures . Opener Lokesh Bam 4, Ashif Sheikh 6 and captain Rohit Paudel were dismissed for 4 runs. Kishore Mahato added 11 runs . Akash Chand alone took four wickets for Army in
bowling. Chand bowled 10 overs 35 runs were spent doing . Sompal Kami took 3 wickets and Shahab Alam took 2 wickets while Basir Ahmed got one wicket.
There is an exciting rivalry between APF and Ami in the departmental derby. Army is undefeated in the ongoing competition. After winning the previous four matches, Army is in the second position of the table with 8 points. APF is third in the table with 6 points after winning three out of four matches and losing one match. Teams from seven provinces including three departmental teams Tribhuvan Army, APF and Nepal Police Club are participating in the competition.
Siddharth Cricket Stadium in Rupandehi in Lumbini Province and Extratech Oval Ground and the ground in Deuduri in Dang, the matches of the competition which started simultaneously from last February 25th are being held on the basis of single round robin .
After the league stage matches, the top two teams will compete in the final. There will be 17 matches including the final at Siddhartha Cricket Stadium in Bhairawa, 15 matches will be played at Extratech Oval ground in Tilottma municipality and 14 matches will be played at Lamhi in Dang.
