The 8th Barakhari Corporate Golf Tournament is going to be held on 23rd Chait at Gokarna Forest Golf Course. About 120 corporate golfers will compete in the tournament this year.

Organizer Bahrakhari Media Pvt Ltd has informed that golfers from India, America, China, Singapore, Sri Lanka will also participate in the 18-hole stable fort format competition. Besides, representatives of foreign missions in Nepal will also participate in the competition.

The organizer claims that the competition between golfers from the corporate sector is the most prestigious golf competition in the country. The 'all-round' winner will receive a 24 carat gold golf ball and other prizes. Winners of various other categories will receive trophies and certificates. A contestant who makes a hole-in-one in the designated hole will receive BYD's 'Etto 3' car as a prize.

In the press conference held on Monday, Barakhari media informed that there will also be an economic seminar program on the same occasion. Prateek Pradhan, President and Editor-in-Chief of Barakhari Media, said that along with the corporate golf tournament, the economic seminar program is held annually with the aim of contributing to the economic prosperity of Nepal. He said that this year, due to the participation of international level corporate golfers at his own expense, its scope will be wider.  

Umar Mohsin, Chief Commercial Officer of Ncell for Business, the main sponsor, said that taking sports and economic symposium together is in line with Ncell's main objective, so it is continued.

President of Gokarna Golf Club Suhrid Ghimire pointed out the need for the government to pay attention to the development of sports as golf plays an important role. Yamuna Shrestha, Managing Director of Symex Inc., the official seller of BYD, said that she is happy to collaborate with this event where golf game and economy are connected, BYD itself is an innovation. She said that this is also a similar program.

Sudiksha Adhikari, head of marketing of Nepal Distillery, said that golf and Khukuri rum are compatible in nature, so they collaborated with this event. Deepak Acharya, director of Gokarna Golf Club, said that although there are many tournaments in Nepal, Barakhari Golf adds special excitement to the players and becomes an event of anticipation. Last year's edition was held at the Himalayan Golf Course in Pokhara.
