Sudurpaschim Sports Awards: Nominations for coach and young player of the year announced

The organizer Nepal Sports Journalist Forum Kailali has announced the nominations for the sixth series of Sudurpaschim Sports Awards for the category of Young Player of the Year and Coach of the Year.

According to Sitaram Ojha, coordinator of the selection committee, Naren Saud of cricket, Nirajan Dhami of football and Sushil Chunara of kabaddi have been nominated for the young player of the year. The award is going to be organized on Chait 7th in Dhangadhi.  

Footballer Dhami Saaf became the runner-up of Nepal in the U-20 Champions League and is the player who scored the most goals from Nepal. He succeeded in becoming an emerging player in the KP Oli Cup. Kabaddi player Chunara is a player who performed well in the 4th Bangabandhu Men's International Kabaddi Tournament in Bangladesh, becoming the runner-up of the Nepali team. He was included in the senior team of Nepal at the age of 17. Saud of cricket had a great performance in the U-19 Asia Cup when they registered a victory over Afghanistan. He took 5 wickets in his debut match of Nepal Premier League. 

Similarly, Kabaddi's Vishnudatta Bhatt, Volleyball's Jagdish Bhatt and Kabaddi's Harina Thapa have been nominated for Coach of the Year. Kabaddi coach Bhatt is the coach who made the Nepali team runner-up in the 4th Bangabandhu Men's International Kabaddi Tournament in Bangladesh. Volleyball's Bhatt Kava is the coach who made Nepal runner-up in the Volleyball Nations League. Under his training, Nepal won a historic victory over India. Kabaddi's Thapa is the coach who won the bronze medal for Nepal in the Asian Women's Kabaddi Championship for the first time.

organizers have already announced the nominations for Far West Icon male and female categories. Now the nominations for the male and female players of the year have yet to be announced. According to

organizers, awards will be given in eight categories. According to organizer Nepal Sports Journalist Manch Kailali, the winners of the best male and female sports categories will be awarded 35,000-35,000 cash, the best coach 30,000, and the winners of the Young Player of the Year, Special Award and Lifetime Achievement Award will be awarded 25,000-25,000 cash. Similarly, the winners of Sudorpaschim icon female and male categories will be awarded trophies with cash of 20,000 each.
