Madhesh Pradesh team has won the first IGP Cup cricket tournament. In the tournament organized by Nepal Police Sports Committee, Madhesh defeated the Lumbini Province team by 14 runs in the final at Moolpani Cricket Ground on Saturday.
After winning the toss, Madhesh scored 167 runs after losing all the wickets in 20 overs. From the team, Munal Yadav hit 1 four and 3 sixes in 17 balls and scored 32, Kamlesh Mandal Dhanuk scored 29, Sanjay Sah scored 25 and Hemu Yadav and Dipesh Rai scored 22 runs. Lumbini Pradesh's Rohin Thalal took 3 wickets in 4 overs for 34 runs, Anup Kumar Nishad and Yuvraj Sen Oli took 2 wickets each and Suraj Dhital and Ravin Gaudel took 1 wicket each.
In response, Lumbini Province lost 9 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs and scored only 153 runs. Krishna Pasi scored the highest 32 runs. He played 28 balls and hit 3 fours and 1 six. Suraj Dhital played 11 balls and scored 25 runs with 3 sixes, Yuvraj scored 22 runs, Sabir Ahmed scored 19 runs and Dipendra Thapa scored 16 runs. Yograj Sharma and Munal Yadav of Madhesh took 2-2 and Dipesh took 1 wicket.
