Machindra FC Kathmandu and Namobudv Football Club Saptari are competing for the title of the fifth edition of Panchthar Gold Cup football on Saturday. Machindra defeated Intra Pathri Football Club Morang in the semi-finals. Saptari 'A' Division Club reached the final after defeating Church Boys.

On the eve of the final, the captains of both teams have claimed that they will defend the title in the pre-match conference held at the Fidim Mavi ground on Friday. Machindra's coach Sabin Adhikari said that despite being a Mofusal team, Saptari has a proud presence of young players, so they have to work hard.

However, he said that he will defend the title by recognizing the weakness of the competing team. On the other hand, Namobudwa coach Suresh Lama expressed his belief that they will win the title as they have young and experienced players with enough experience on the field of Mofusal. He claimed that being able to beat Himalayan Sherpa of A Division in the quarter-final and Church Boys in the semi-final became a strong foundation for winning their match.

Saptari has reached the final for the first time at this ground in Panchthar. Machindra is the runner-up team of Falgunand Gold Cup held in Pus. In this tournament, Machindra has entered the field with three foreign players. Saptari has fielded all players from Madhesh province except one.

The title clash of the fifth Panchthar Gold Cup will be held on Saturday at 2 pm at Fidim Mavi ground. The winner will win a trophy with a prize of 11 lakh 1 thousand 111 rupees. 5 lakh 55 thousand 555 rupees will be awarded to the runner-up.
