Nepal's para athlete Prabha Angdambe won a historic silver medal at the New Delhi Grand Prix of World Para Athletics. Nepal has won a medal for the first time in this level of para athletics competition.
Prabha won the medal in women's long jump under T-47 category. The competition was held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in India on Thursday. She jumped 3.96 meters and took second place. Janani Wickramasingha of Sri Lanka won gold and Mekhriniso Ovidova of Uzbekistan won bronze in this event. Janani jumped 5.04 meters and Mekhriniso jumped 3.49 meters. India's Kirti Chauhan was disqualified. This is Prabha's second participation in the
international competition. She participated in the Dubai Grand Prix earlier this month. She finished the tour of Dubai in eighth place with a jump of 3.56 meters. For the first time, Nepal has started the World Para Athletics Grand Prix journey from Dubai. Navraj Karki participated in it along with Prabha.
