Bagmati Province won the Prime Minister's Cup ODI Men's National Cricket Tournament on Friday with the excellent performance of Shubh Kansakar. This is Bagmati's first victory in the Prime Minister's Cup.
Bagmati defeated Sudurpaschim Pradesh by 55 runs at the Extratech Oval cricket ground in Tilottama. After winning the
toss, Bagmati, who batted first, lost 8 wickets in the scheduled over and made a high total of 266 runs. Shubh Kansakar contributed the most for Bagmati with 77 runs. Kansakar hit 5 fours and 6 sixes in 68 balls.
Ashutosh Ghiraiya played a half-century innings of 58 runs. Ishan Pandey got out with 36, skipper Prithu Baskota and Pratis GC scored 15 runs each. Similarly, Vivek Magar got out for 10 runs while Suman Sunar added 12 unbeaten runs. In bowling, Hemant Dhami, Sher Malla and Saurya Shrestha took 2 wickets each for Sudurpaschim. Narayan Joshi and Rahul Bhandari got one wicket each. Tek Rawat added the most 45 runs for Sudurpaschim who batted in response to
. Captain Narayan Joshi scored 39 runs while Rahul Bhandari scored 26 runs. In bowling, Rijan Dhakal and Sonu Devkota of Bagmati took 4 wickets each while Pratish Jisi took 1 wicket. This is Bagmati's third game in the
competition. Bagmati, who were winless in both the previous matches, managed to collect 2 points after winning the match on Friday. Bagmati lost their first match against the departmental team APF Club by 100 runs. In the second match, another departmental team Tribhuvan Army lost by 134 runs.
This is the fourth game of Far West. Sudurpaschim had won one of the previous three games and lost two of them. Sudurpaschim suffered defeat by 79 runs against Karnali Pradesh in their first match. In the second match, Gandaki won by 6 wickets. Sudurpaschim was defeated by 8 wickets against the divisional team Tribhuvan Army in its third match.
Bagmati's Shubh Kansakar was declared the player of the match in Friday's match. Tribhuvan Army Club and Koshi Pradesh will compete at Siddharth Cricket Stadium on Saturday.
