New Star Club Jhapa has won the title of Machhapokhari Hiti Gold Cup. Jhapa won the title by defeating last year's winner Marik FC Dharan by one zero goal difference in the tournament held at Atharai Triveni Rural Municipality-5 Change.
Nischal Basnet scored the only decisive goal for Jhapa in the 75th minute of the match. Basnet was also the 'man of the match' of the
game. He received 3 thousand in cash. Jhapa received a trophy, medal and certificate along with 3 lakh rupees.
runner-up Dharan had to pay 160,000. Basnet was the top scorer in the individual category, PK Kandangwa was the best midfielder, Vijay Rai was the 'player of the tournament', Anubh Kedem was the best coach. They are all from Jhapa.
The best goalkeeper was Nishan Thapa of Marik FC Dharan and the best defender was also Raju Thapa. They got three thousand rupees each. The competition, which started on February 25, ended on the 29th. Eight teams participated in the competition run with the support of Atharai Triveni Rural Municipality.
