Three Star became the champion for the second time in the ninth edition of Virat Gold Cup night football tournament. In the final match held at Shahid Stadium in Biratnagar on Wednesday midnight, Three Star defeated Shahid Smarak A Division League champion Church Boys United by 2-0.
Along with the win, he won a cash prize of 11 lakhs. Church Boys settled for 5 lakhs.
Threestar's Khemraj Shrestha scored a goal in the 5th minute of the game and gave the team the lead. Then in the 63rd minute of the game, Dipesh Ghale doubled the lead. Church Boys, who played aggressively in the beginning, were defeated by Three Star Club by performing a technical game. Threestar also maintained its reputation in terms of genre.
Church Boys entered the field with the goal of winning the Virat Gold Cup title for the first time but did not succeed. Earlier, Three Star won the title for the first time in the fifth edition of the Virat Gold Cup by defeating the Nepali Army by 3-0 goals. Threestar's Ganesh Khadka was declared the best coach in the
competition. Threestar's Vivek Magar was declared the best goalkeeper, Dipesh Ghale was the top scorer and Khemraj Shrestha was declared the best player of the tournament.
Ekraj Budhathoki of Church Bays became the man of the match. They were rewarded at the same rate of 15,000.
