Namobudv Football Club has entered the final of the 5th Panchthar Gold Cup held at Phidim in Saptari Panchthar. Saptari defeated Church Boys Club Kathmandu by 4-2 in Tybaker and became title contender in the Panchthar Gold Cup with a prize money of 11 lakh rupees. The decision was taken at Tybaker after the Duwe team tied 2-2 at the scheduled time of 90 minutes.
Vivek Gurung, Vivek Rai, Anil Magar and Ayush Magar scored goals for Saptari in Tybaker, while foreign players Talla and Sagar Tiruwa scored only for Church Boys.
Another foreign player of Church Boys, Fofona and Avishek Mahato, were saved by Saptari's goalkeeper Jayaratna Sheikh, and Church Boys lost to Saptari. James, a foreign player who played for Namobudwa at the scheduled time, took the lead by scoring a goal 33 minutes after the start of the game. In response, Dhruv Rai of Church Boys scored a goal in the injury time of the first half.
James from Saptari doubled the goal gap again in the 61st minute, but in the 85th minute, Raj Bhusal of the Church Boys added another goal to tie the game, and the match was pushed to Tybaker.
In the last semi-final held on Thursday, Saptari's goalkeeper Jayaratna Sheikh was declared man of the match and was awarded with 7,500 cash. With this win, Saptari now has to compete with Machindra Football Club Kathmandu for the title of Panchthar Gold Cup on Saturday. President Tumrok informed that the winner of this edition will be given a trophy medal and certificate along with a prize of 11 lakh 1 thousand 111 rupees. The runner-up of the competition will receive a prize of Rs 5 lakh 55 thousand 555.
