Army's 3rd win and Lumbini's 2nd win in Prime Minister's Cup cricket

The departmental team Tribhuvan Army Club and Lumbini Pradesh won the Prime Minister's Cup One Day Men's National Cricket Tournament in Rupandehi on Thursday. This is the third consecutive victory of the Army. This is Lumbini's second win.

Army defeated Karnali Pradesh by 127 runs in the match held on Thursday at the Extra Tech Oval cricket ground in Tilottama. Pursuing the target of 263 runs given by the Army for victory, Karnali was reduced to 135 runs in 37.1 overs.

Prakash Jaisi played a half-century innings of 50 runs for Karnali. Jaisi hit 2 fours and 2 sixes in 72 balls. Bipin Rawal was dismissed after scoring 23 runs. Dinesh Adhikari scored 22 and Bipin Shahi returned to the pavilion with 12 runs. Other players could not make a good run. In bowling, Sahav Alam alone took three wickets for the Army. Alam spent 28 runs keeping 2 maidens in 10 overs. Sompal Kami, Kushal Malla and Akash Chand took 2 wickets each.  

Before that, after Karnali province won the toss and chose to field, the Army, who came into bat first, lost 9 wickets in the stipulated over and prepared a high total of 263 runs. Tritraj Das scored a half-century for Army. Das hit 10 fours off 84 balls and contributed 69 runs. Captain Vinod Bhandari played a half century innings of 56 runs. Bhandari hit 4 fours and 2 sixes in 64 balls. Bhim Sarki scored 40, Basir Ahmed scored 36 and Sompalka Kami scored 13 runs. In bowling, Prakash Jaisi single-handedly took four wickets for Karnali. He spent 64 runs in 10 overs. Dinesh Adhikari took 3 wickets and Sunil Dhamala took 2 wickets. 

Army won the third consecutive victory and climbed to the top of the table with 6 points. Karnali finished sixth in the table with 2 points. Karnali, who played three matches, won one and lost two. 

Lumbini Province won by 14 runs

Lumbini Province won another match under the Prime Minister's Cup Cricket on Thursday. Lumbini defeated Gandaki Pradesh by 14 runs in the match at Siddharthnagar cricket ground in Bhairawa.

This is Lumbini's second victory. This is Gandaki's second defeat. Chasing the target of 218 runs given by Lumbini for victory, Gandaki could score only 203 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the allotted overs.

Arjun Kumal played a half-century innings of 62 runs for Gandaki. He hit 8 boundaries in 86 balls. Opener Muskhan Thapa was dismissed for 24 runs. Subhas Bhandari scored 30 runs and Kamal Pariyar returned to the pavilion with 15 runs while Amrit Gurung scored 24 runs unbeaten. Other batsmen could not score good runs. Nirmal Gurung of Lumbini took 3 wickets in bowling. Viprasan KC took 2 wickets and Ramesh Kurmi and Nar Sarki took one wicket each. 

Before that, Lumbini, who batted first at the Siddharthnagar Cricket Ground, scored 217 runs losing all wickets in 49.5 overs. Prajwal Thapa scored a half-century for Lumbini. Thapa scored 72 runs off 79 balls by hitting 7 fours and a six. Opener Mrinal Gurung scored 38 runs, captain Dev Khanal scored 33 runs, Viprasan KC scored 25 runs. Manish Thapa was dismissed for 24 runs.  In

bowling, Amrit Gurung took the most 3 wickets for Gandaki. Chandra Paudel and Bipin Khatri took 2-2 each and Subhas Bhandari, Kamal Pariyar and Vance Chhetri took one wicket each. 

After this result, Lumbini, who won 2 and lost 1 out of three games, finished fourth in the table with four points. Gandaki is in the eighth place in the table with 2 points from the same three matches. As part of the tournament, a match will be held between Bagmati and Sudurpaschim Province on Friday at the Extra Tech Oval cricket ground in Tilottama.
