Thunder-11 defeated Damak Cricket Club by 21 runs in the ongoing Indo-Nepal T20 cricket tournament at the Saraswati Mavi Stadium in Mechinagar-4 Bahundangi, Jhapa and entered the semi-finals.
After losing the toss and batting first, Thunder scored 114 runs losing 7 wickets in the scheduled 16 overs. The 16 over match was played due to rain. Kirat Dangi scored 37 runs for Thunder. Similarly, Vidhan Dulal scored 18 runs, Shiv Rajvanshi scored 16 runs and Nitya Khadaria scored 15 runs. In terms of
bowling, Anand Sharma took the most 3 wickets for Damak. Similarly, Ravit Rajvanshi and Alik Rai took 2/2 wickets each while Ayush Neupane took 1 wicket.
While chasing the winning target of 115 runs, Damak managed to score only 93 runs losing 9 wickets in the stipulated over. For Damak, Suraj Neupane scored 34 runs with explosive batting. He scored 34 runs playing 16 balls. Similarly, except for Vijay Tamang's 32 and Nur Anjan's 17 runs, the other batsmen could not score runs in double figures and Damak lost.
In terms of bowling, Anand Sharma took the most 3 wickets for Thunder, Rohit Rajvanshi and Alik Rai took 2 wickets each and Ayus Neupane took 1 wicket . Anand Sharma of Thunder was declared the best player of the
competition and received 1000 rupees in cash and a token of love. He took 3 wickets in bowling and scored 3 runs in batting.
The final match of the competition which started on February 21st will be completed on March 4th. The winning team of the competition will get a trophy, medal and certificate along with 50,000 rupees, while the runner-up team will get a trophy, medal and certificate along with 30,000 rupees. The main objective of the
tournament is to run a cricket academy in Bahundangi, according to the organizer Bahundangi Yuva Club.
