Sainamaina Gold Cup title to Kapilvastu 11

Kapilvastu 11 won the title of the first Sunagabha Sainamaina Gold Cup held at Sainamaina in Rupandehi. Kapilvastu 11 became the champion after defeating Abhishek Church Nawalpur by 1-0 in the final match of the tournament organized by Murgia Football Club on Wednesday at Sainamaina Stadium.

After the goalless first half ended in a draw, the players intensified their performance in the second half. Mohammad Indres, a foreign player who played for Kapilvastu 11, scored 1 goal in 10 minutes of the second half. He converted the opportunity he got in the box into a goal and gave Kapilvastu 11 the lead. That goal was enough for the victory.

10 teams including two departments from Nepal and one from India participated in the competition which lasted for 10 days. In the match, the title winner Kapilvastu 11 received a trophy, medal and certificate of Rs 7 lakh, while the runner-up Abhishek Church Navalpur received Rs 4 lakh. Chairman of Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal distributed prizes to the winning players.
