Mechinagar Gold Cup: Kakadvitta enters the final in sudden death

The host Kakadvitta Football Training Center has entered the finals of the 5th Mechinagar Gold Cup. By shocking Dharan in sudden death in the second semi-final on Tuesday, the organizers have set a journey closer to the title.

He has been confirmed to meet the winners of the last semi-final match on Thursday, Church Boys Club and one of Machindra Club for the title. 

After the 90-minute scheduled time ended in a 1-1 tie at Kakadvitta Mavi, the final decision was taken by sudden death through a tiebreaker.  After four players from both teams scored in the tiebreaker, the match went to sudden death.

Franklin Tala, a foreign player of the host team, scored a goal in sudden death, while Dharan's Roman Limbu's shot was blocked by the host's goalkeeper Vivash Chaudhary.  With this result, Kakadvitta won 5-4 . Abhishek Gurung, Diwas Urau, Nishan Limbu and Vivek Gurung scored goals in the

tie-breaker, while Hemant Limbu's shot hit the crossbar. Dharan's Milan Rai, Sabin Rai, Prajwal Thapa, Ajay Bisht scored while Sugam Jimmy's shot was missed.

In the 34th minute of the game, Dharan's captain Milan Rai performed a great solo and passed to Suraj Rasaili, which Rasaili converted into a goal .

However, in the 72nd minute of the game, the host managed to equalize the game . Hemant Limbu headed the corner kick by Vivek Gurung into the net. In the

game, the host's foreign players, Ibrahim and Alex, missed the opportunity to score . Dharan's Suraj Rasaili and Vivek Rai hit the fence and returned. Munna Subba, the coach of the

organizers, expressed his happiness that the opposition team was strong but managed to win. He admitted that the harmony of the team was not good and said that he will not repeat that mistake in the final. 

Hemkumar Gurung, the coach of Dharan, said that it is sad that the results could not be favorable even though the players performed well. 

Organizer's goalkeeper Vivash Chaudhary was declared as the 'Player of the Match'. He received a cash prize of Rs 11,000.
