Machindra Football Club has entered the finals of the fifth edition of the Panchthar Gold Cup in Fidim. Machindra Panchthar became a contender for the title of Gold Cup after defeating the rival Intra Pathri Football Club by 3-1 in the semi-final held on Wednesday at Fidim Mavi Stadium.

The first goal on behalf of Machchindra was scored by Vishal Ghalan in the 23rd minute to give the team an early lead, but Armand Widem, a foreign player who played for Pathri, equalized by scoring a counter goal in the 66th minute.

Stephen, another foreign player who played for Machindra again, scored the second goal in the 84th minute and put his team ahead again.

Machindra's Navayug Shrestha made an extra during the third goal. Stephen, who played for Machindra in Wednesday's match, was declared the best player and was given a cash prize of 7,500 rupees.

The organizer Panchthar Club has informed that the final match of the semi-final stage will be played between Church Boys Club Kathmandu and Namobudv Football Club Saptari on Thursday.

The final match is scheduled to be held on 2nd of Chait. 8 teams from Nepal and India participated in the fifth edition of Panchthar Gold Cup which started on February 24th.

The winner of this edition will receive a cash prize of 11 lakh 1 thousand 111 rupees and the runner-up will receive a cash prize of 5 lakh 5 thousand 555 rupees along with a trophy, medal and certificate.
