Three Star Club has entered the finals of the 9th edition of Birat Gold Cup held in Biratnagar. In the first semi-final held at Shahid Rangsala on Sunday, the three-star title came close after defeating the strong rival Tribhuvan Army Club 3-2.

Prashant Limbu, Dipesh Ghale and Naveen Lama scored 1/1 goal for Three Star. In the first minute of the match, Prashant cleverly turned Dipesh Ghale's cross into a goal and gave the team the lead. 

Second Goal In the 28th minute of the game, Dipesh Ghale converted Ashish Chapagai's pass into an attractive goal and doubled the lead. Naveen Lama scored in the 81st minute of the game to ensure the victory of Three Star.

Captain Navayug Shrestha and Niraj Choudhary scored 1/1 goal for the army. Navayug scored a goal in the 83rd minute of the game and Niraj Chaudhary converted the penalty given by the referee Shyam Danuwar after a foul on Army's Nisant Rai inside the D-box in extra time. 

Threestar will now face the winner between Nepal Police Club and Church Boys United for the title in the last semi-final match on Monday. 

After the goal difference of 2-0 in the first half, Army was under pressure. Even though he tried to equalize the game, his efforts failed till the end. Despite presenting an aggressive game in the second half, the army could not take advantage of the opportunities it had. Dozens of army shots failed throughout the game. Captain Navayug Shrestha's half a dozen shots were stopped by defenders and goalkeepers of Three Star. 

In the 22nd minute of the game, Army's Fateman Ghale's shot went over the bar. In the 28th minute, Navayug Shrestha's hard shot was blocked by Three Star goalkeeper Vivek Magar. In the 56th minute, Niraj Chaudhary's cross pass failed to score for Navayug. In the 70th minute, Niraj could not use the pass given to Navayug from inside the box.  The 'player of the match' of the

competition was Prashant Laxam Limbu of Threestar. He got 11 thousand rupees in cash.
