As part of the Prime Minister's Cup men's one-day cricket tournament, Sudurpaschim Province won the match at the Deukhuri International Cricket Stadium in Lamhi on Monday.

With the help of Kiran Thagunna's unbeaten 121 runs, Sudurpaschim Province won easily by 6 wickets against Gandaki Province. Sudurpaschim completed the target of 221 runs in 43 overs with the loss of 4 wickets.

Kiran Thagunna played an explosive innings for Sudurpaschim with 6  in 101 balls. Narayan Joshi contributed unbeaten 38 runs while scoring 121 runs with the help of sixes and 9 fours. Kiran Thagunna became the first player to score a century in this tournament. Likewise, Khadak Bohra scored 19 runs for Sudurpaschim,  Nischal Chhetri contributed 18 runs. Bipin Khatri, Amrit Gurung, Kamal Pariyar and Arjun Kumal of Gandaki state took 1 wicket each.

Gandaki Pradesh, who won the toss and batted first, made 220 runs for the loss of eight wickets. Deepak Dumre and Arjun Kumal scored half-centuries for Gandaki Pradesh. Deepak Dumre contributed 60, Arjun Kumal 57, Sudeep Aryal 23, Vansh Chhetri 18, Dinesh Budha Magar 15, Amrit Gurung and Bipin Khatri contributed 10 runs each.

Captain Sher Malla took 3 wickets, Narayan Joshi took 2 wickets, Hemant Dhami, Milan Bohra and Arjun Vick took 1 each. With the win against Gandaki Province, Sudurpaschim Province is in the sixth position of the table by adding 2 points. Kiran Thagunna, who played an important role in winning Sudurpaschim Province, became the 'Player of the Man'.

Earlier in the first match on Sunday, Sudurpaschim Province was defeated by Karnali Province by 79 runs dramatically. Now there is a schedule of match between Karnali Province and Gandaki Province on Tuesday.

Nepal Cricket Association organized by CAN, coordinated by Provincial Cricket Association and managed by Dang Cricket Association, seven provincial teams including three departments are participating in the tournament.

The matches of the tournament, which started simultaneously at Siddharth Cricket Stadium and Extratech Oval ground in Ruppandehi, are being played on a round-robin basis. Each team will play against one other team. 14 games are scheduled to be held in Dang as part of the competition that will last until the 16th of Chait.
