Dharan FC has entered the semi-finals of the 5th Mechinagar Gold Cup football tournament by shocking the visiting team Uzbekistan's Black Bulls FC in a tiebreaker. Dharan FC defeated Black Bulls by 5-3 in the tiebreaker.
After the scheduled 90-minute match was stopped at 1/1, the final decision was taken from the tiebreaker. Dharan's captain Milan Rai, Suraj Rasaili, Prajwal Thapa, Ajay Bishta and Sugam GC scored goals in the tiebreaker.
Black Bulls' Khusan Ganunov, Azizbek Khusounobev and Kuvanbek scored, while Asivek Erifjonov's shot was blocked by Dharan's goalkeeper Vipul Magar. In the 60th minute of the
game, Black Bulls took the lead. Asivek's header turned into a goal in Islamzone's cross pass. However, in the 84th minute, Dharan returned the goal to equalize and the game reached an exciting stage.
Captain Milan Rai's pass was scored by substitute player Sugam GC to equalize Dharan. Taking advantage of the mistakes of the defenders of the Black Bulls, GC scored easily.
In the fourth minute of the game, Islamjon of Black Bulls got a free kick but could not score. Similarly, in the 33rd minute, Dharan's captain Milan Limbu and in the 43rd minute, Alizon of Black Bulls failed. In the 70th minute, Dharan's Suraj Rasaili's shot was saved by the Black Bulls goalkeeper. After the
victory, Dharan's coach Hem Gurung said that he was able to win because of the players' excellent performance and understanding of the opponent's strategy.
Black Bulls coach Samipya Subedi admitted that the players were tired due to the long journey and the team could not perform as expected due to the lack of some key players.
Dharan's substitute goalkeeper Vipul Magar became the 'player of the match'. He got 11 thousand rupees in cash.
