Machindra Football Club has entered the semifinals of Panchthar Gold Cup after defeating Himalaya Sherpa. Machindra defeated Himalayan 2-1 on Monday and made it to the semi-finals.
Stephen, a foreign player who played for Machindra, opened his team's account by scoring in the 27th minute. Jai Gurung scored the second goal for the team in the 30th minute.
Himalaya Sherpa's Suzan Sangtan scored a goal in the 90th minute after the interval, but it was not enough. Machchindra's Vishal Ghalan was declared Man of the Match and was awarded with 7,500 cash.
On Tuesday, the organizer said that the final match of the first round will be played between the departmental team Nepal Police Club and Namo Budv Football Club Saptari. The match is scheduled to start at 3 pm at the Fidim Mavi ground .
8 teams from Nepal and India are participating in the fifth edition of the Panchthar Gold Cup which started on February 24th. Out of which Hills Academy of India, Himalayan Sherpa and host Panchthar Club have been eliminated from the first round. The winner of this edition will receive a cash prize of 11 lakh 1 thousand 111 and the runner-up will receive a trophy, medal and certificate along with a cash prize of 5 lakh 5 thousand 555 .
