Farwest Hunter Cricket Club has defended the title of Nepalese Association of Victoria (NAV) Cup T20 cricket tournament. In the final in Melbourne on Sunday, Farwest defeated the expert Everest Blues by 8 wickets.

As a continuation of the annual program of the Nepali Society Victoria, Nav Cup Cricket is being organized. Farwest completed the target of 182 runs with 13 balls to spare in the final of the 20th edition on Sunday.

Captain and opener Keshav Pant hit 5 sixes and 6 fours while making 59 runs off 26 balls. Another opener Aryan Bisht got out after scoring 34 runs. Mahesh Khatri and Sunil Bhat played unbeaten innings of 33 and 36 runs respectively. 

Sagarmatha, who batted earlier, scored 181 runs after losing 7 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs. Opener Abhinash GC scored 77 runs. He played 53 balls and hit 5 fours and 2 sixes. Similarly, Rasim Kandel added 31 runs. 

In the semi-finals, Expert defeated Tricon Cricket Team and Farwest defeated Chitwan Cricket Club. This year, 17 teams participated in the competition, which was conducted every weekend. The competition between teams of the Nepali community in the state of Victoria is being contested by the NAYB. It aims to be established as a festival among the Nepali community.

Nave Award to Tamata 

Former head coach of Nepali national cricket team Jagat Tamata has been honored with NAV Award 2025. In a special program held in Melbourne on Sunday evening, the president of NAB Dr. Ekindra Timilsina, Nepali Consul for the State of Victoria Neerajan Gowli and others honored Nepali coach Hasti Tamata. 

Nepal Cricket Association president Chatur Bahadur Chand, record players Dipendra Singh Airi and Kushal Malla and before that former captain Paras Khadka were honored with this award last year. Former President Premraj Upreti said that NAB has been honoring Nepali cricket personalities every year as a continuation of the agreement made with CAN three years ago at the Australian Embassy in Rohwar.
