Karnali Province has won the first match of the Prime Minister's Cup ODI Men's National Cricket Tournament.
Karnali Province started victoriously by defeating Sudurpaschim Province by 79 runs. Pursuing the target of 156 runs, Sudurpaschim Pradesh lost all wickets in 21 overs and ended up with only 76 runs, Karnali got off to a good start.
Karnali Pradesh won the toss and scored 155 runs thanks to Arjun Gharti's contribution of 71 runs. Apart from Dinesh Adhikari scoring 17 runs and Diwan Pun scoring 12 runs for Karnali, other players could not score double digit runs.
Hemant Dhami took important 4 wickets to prevent Karnali from reaching the normal target. Similarly, Narayan Joshi took 2 wickets while Sher Mall, Milan Bohora, Bhojraj Bhatt took 1/1 wicket each. Pursuing the winning target of 156 runs, Sudurpaschim Pradesh scored 30 runs in the first 5 overs without a wicket. Despite a good start, the wickets did not stop falling, but the defeat ended. Apart from Khadak Bohora scoring 27 runs, Kiran Thagunna and Sher Mall scoring 13/13 runs for Sudurpaschim, other players of Sudurpaschim could not perform well.
Dipendra Rawat, who took 7 wickets to give Karnali an important victory, became the player of the match. As part of the competition, there will be a match between Gandaki Province and Sudurpaschim Province on Monday.
