APF and Lumbini got off to a winning start in the opening match of the Prime Minister's Cup Men's National Cricket Tournament which started in Rupandehi.
Lumbini defeated Koshi Pradesh by 26 runs in the opening match at Siddharth Cricket Ground in Bhairawa of the district. After winning the toss, Lumbini batted first and scored 208 runs in 48 overs. For Lumbini, Akash Tripathi contributed the most 66 runs, Nar Sarki 45 and Mirnal Gurung 43. For Koshi, Prakash Karki and Dipesh Kandel took 3-3 and Fidrosh Ansari took 2 wickets.
Chasing the target of 299 runs given by Lumbini, Koshi was reduced to 182 runs in 42 overs of 4 balls. For Koshi, Sujan Thapalia added the highest 35 runs . Opener Chirag Shah 31, Suwan Ghatraj 29, Saqib Haque 27 and captain Ankit Subedi were dismissed for 18 runs. Ajay Chauhan of Lumbini shined in
bowling. He took 5 wickets for 32 runs in 8 overs and 4 balls. Ramesh Kurmi took 3 wickets and Dev Khanal and Krishna Karki got 1 wicket each. Lumbini's Chauhan became the player of the match.
Nepal APF Club has won the first match at Extratech Oval Cricket Ground in Tilottama, Rupandehi. APF has defeated Bagmati Province by 100 runs. In the match, spinner bowler Kamalsingh Airi took 4 wickets with 27 runs in 8 overs and Nepal APF club won. Chasing a target of 175 runs, Bagmati lost all wickets in 28 overs and was reduced to 74 runs.
For Bagmati, except for Shubh Kansakar scoring 16 runs, other batsmen could not score runs in double figures . Kamalsingh Airy took 4 wickets, captain Rohit Kumar Paudel and Amarsingh Rautela took 2 each and Abhinash Bohra took 1 wicket.
Earlier, after losing the toss and being invited to bat, APF was bowled out for 174 runs in 44 overs . For him, Sandeep Jora scored 37 runs with the help of 2 fours facing 62 balls. Deepak Bohra scored 25 and Kamal Singh scored 15 runs. Amarsingh remained not out for 26 runs. On Monday, Tribhuvan Army Club and Bagmati Pradesh will meet at Siddharth Cricket Stadium, while Lumbini Pradesh and Nepal Police Club will compete at Extratech Oval Cricket Ground, said Pratham Parajuli, member of the working committee of Lumbini Pradesh Cricket Association.
