The Nepali women's team won the bronze medal in the 6th Asian Women's Kabaddi Championship. According to Arvind Kumar Jha, General Secretary of All Nepal Kabaddi Association, Bangladesh is joint third along with Nepal.
Nepal was defeated by neighboring India. Bangladesh lost to Iran 41-18.
The Nepali women's kabaddi team also won bronze in the 19th Asian Games held in China.
India won the title in the tournament held in Tehran, the capital of Iran. India, who became champions for the fifth time, defeated the host Iran by 32-25 points in the final. Teams from seven countries participated in the competition.
Asian Women's Kabaddi started in 2005. For men, the Asian Championship started in 1980.
