All the matches of the Prime Minister's Cup national cricket tournament will be organized in three stadiums in Lumbini province, and the cricket lovers here are enthusiastic. As the necessary preparations are going on in the stadium for the operation of the game, the cricket lovers are very excited.
Major domestic tournaments are being organized from February 25 in two stadiums in Rupandehi and one in Dang. Stakeholders believe that this will help to make the province known as a cricket hub. Preparations for the PM Cup are in the final stages at the Siddharth Gautam Buddha Cricket Stadium in Bhairawa, which has produced many players for Nepali cricket. Local cricketers are happy that they will be able to play in the stadium.
Cricketer Dev Khanal said that organizing the tournament in the state will not only make the sport but also the economic sector run. He said that the new generation who prefers to play cricket can learn a lot by watching the performances of national and international players at their home ground.
On the other hand, Dev said that he was happy that Rupandehi became Kathmandu's choice for hosting the competition. "Rather than playing on the same field, going to different places and performing gives the players a chance to familiarize themselves with the natural and geographical structure," he said, "It is an opportunity to introduce themselves to a different audience." Hari Bahadur Thapa, president of Rupandehi District Cricket Association, said that this year they have succeeded in getting a bigger opportunity. "Last year's experience has taught us a lot," President Thapa said, "with the help of Siddharthnagar Municipality, we have put a fence around the stadium, we believe that the competition will proceed more effectively this year." The competition will be conducted as suggested by the Provincial Cricket Association.
He said that the economic sector of the district will also be active as there will be a large number of cricket lovers including players, officials and technicians for a month. He claims that Can believes that the message that the PM Cup can be conducted with grandeur in the district is a mine of well-wishers who love cricket. He said that efforts are being made to maintain the attachment and quality of the district cricket association.
Durgesh Gupta of Kapilvastu has been living in Bhairahawa and playing cricket for eight years. He argues that it is a matter of luck to play as a national player at the ground where he learned cricket. "I am familiar with this ground, it encourages me to play well," he said, "We Lumbini residents and players should be happy that a praiseworthy ground is being built in Lumbini province as the condition of the ground is better than before."
President of Dang District Cricket Association Pradeep Mazgaiyan said that the successful organization of PM Cup will make it easy to convey the message that Lumbini Province is getting ready for international level sports events. He said that it will be easy to explain cricket to the stakeholders here when big and high-level games are conducted in the province. "There is no cricket craze among the spectators in Dang," he said, "this year, we believe that our parapit will be filled with publicity."
He informed that the stadium has become a stadium where two games can be conducted at the same time. The capacity of our field can also be shown to industrialists, businessmen and government employees here. This time, it is believed that a crowd of people will flock to the stadium to see the national players," he said.
'It is not possible to develop the game in any place just because there are players or passion for it,' he added, 'only if the government, industrialists and citizens as a whole support it, the investment in that place will get freshness forever.' "We were producing good players by preparing Siddharth Stadium," he said, "now the addition of an international level stadium in Rupandehi with the investment of the private sector has helped to make Lumbini a cricket hub." With the lights installed at a cost of more than 7 crore rupees, it is now becoming possible to play night games at Extratech.
Cricket lover Punaram Pokharel says that he is happy that cricket will be organized in Rupandehi. He said that although he had the opportunity to watch many games while in India, he could not go outside Rupandehi after coming to Nepal. "This year, I have already planned to go to watch every match," he said, "I am retired, sports are a matter of interest, I will go to watch." I am happy that Rupandehi proved that it is possible to build a field outside of Kathmandu.'
