6 athletes from Nepal are going to participate in the World Para Athletics Grand Prix. The 10-member Nepali team is going to New Delhi, India on Friday.
5 male and 1 female players will participate in the tournament to be held from March 7 to 14. Navraj Karki and Govind Giri will compete in men's 400m race, Himal Aryal and Faninarayan Paudel in shot put and Raju Gurung in discus throw. Govind will also compete in javelin throw. Prabha Angdembe will participate in women's 200m, 400m and long jump.
The team members are Anjana Shrestha and Muktinath Adhikari, Omnath Sivakoti is the manager and Vimala Rana Magar is the coach.
This is the second time that Nepal has participated in Para Athletics within a month. Nepal participated in the Grand Prix held in Dubai from February 4 to 14. Prabha and Navraj as players and Vimala as coaches are repeated in this team as well. Based on their performance in Dubai, Prabha and Navraj have been included in the team again.
The National Sports Council (Rakhep) Member-Secretary Tanklal Ghising bid farewell to the team at the Rakhep in Tripureshwar on Thursday.
