Hetaunda sub-metropolitan team won the 15th edition of Makwanpur district level President's Running Shield organized by Makwanpur District Sports Development Committee. Hetaunda won the title of district level President Running Shield competition which started from Sunday and ended on Tuesday afternoon.
Hetaunda has won 15 gold, 10 silver and 9 bronze medals. Similarly, Bakaiya Rural Municipality came second with 13 gold, 5 silver and 10 bronze medals, while Thaha Municipality came third with 11 gold, 9 silver and 6 bronze medals. The team of Bagmati rural municipality has won 6 gold, 17 silver and 17 bronze medals. About 600 players from 9 municipalities of Makwanpur participated in the
competition. Volleyball, athletics, karate, taekwondo kabaddi and other games were conducted under the Presidential Running Shield competition. Indrasarovar Rural Municipality did not participate in the competition. In the
competition, the first, second and third place winners were awarded certificates with gold, silver and bronze medals respectively. Hetaunda was also the first in the 14th edition of the Makwanpur district level President's Running Shield competition that was completed last year. Meena Kumari Lama, mayor of Hetaunda sub-metropolitan city, distributed shields, medals, prizes and certificates to the winners and runners-up.
