The departmental team Nepal Police Club has entered the finals of Birganj Gold Cup football competition. In the first semi-final match held on Wednesday, Nepal Police Club entered the final after defeating Virgunj United Club in sudden death.

At the scheduled time of the match at the Adarshnagar Stadium, both teams were drawn to a tiebreaker. Even in the tiebreaker, the match went into sudden death after the scores of both teams were tied.  In the

tiebreaker, Ujjwal Rai, Ramchandra Vaji, Sanjeev Lama, Amit Tomato, Vivek Pandey scored for Police. In which Rai's shot outside the pole and Lama's shot was stopped by the goalkeeper. Then Shishir Chaudhary, Niraj Khadka, Prajwal Chaudhary and Sunil Tamang of Police scored goals in sudden death.  In the

tiebreaker, Birganj's Asha Gurung, Sanat Bahadur Gurung, Sishas Thapa, Baltor and Kripakant Chaudhary scored. In which Sant Bahadur's shot was stopped by the goalkeeper, while Baltor's ball hit the pole. 

After that, Virgunj was hit by Ajit Chaudhary, Vikram Thakur, Pramjay Chaudhary and Vivek Chaudhary in sudden death. In which Vivek hit it outside the post. Amit Tamata, the goalkeeper of Nepal Police Club, was declared the man of the match in the match. He also received 10,000 cash and a shield. Machindra Football Club Kathmandu and Sahales Football Club Sirha will meet in the second semi-final match on Thursday.
