The departmental team APF Club has made it to the semi-finals of the 2nd International Invitational Women's Gold Cup Football held in Ilam.
In a big match in Elam on Tuesday, APF defeated rival Mother Teresa FC of India by 14-1. APF will now compete against Nepal Police Club in the semi-finals on Thursday.
Women's league winners and APF who fielded outstanding players in various clubs put the opposition under pressure from the start. APF's Anita Casey opened the scoring in the sixth minute. In the 12th minute, Mother Teresa's Pratigya Chhetri scored a goal but it was only a consolation goal for the team.
Until the 80th minute, Rashmikumari Ghising scored 6 goals and Anita Basnet scored 5 goals from APF. Rashmikumari, who scored a double hat-trick, was named the player of the match. She got 5000 prize.
On Wednesday, the host Oasis Club Elam and the departmental team Tribhuvan Army will compete in the first semi-final. The winner will receive a prize of Rs 4 lakh and the runner-up will receive a prize of Rs 2 lakh.
