Do you play football even wearing a lungi? It's impossible. On the occasion of the 14th anniversary of Siden Community Development Club, the locals who got the news that there will be a lungi football match between mothers on Monday, were surprised and rushed to the ground to watch the match. After noon, the formal program started. As soon as the organizer of the event asked the participating teams to get ready on the field, the players entered the field one after the other.

Organizer Siden Community Development Club and Active Band Nepal were prepared for the competition. The players of both teams wore t-shirts with logos and names on the jerseys and different colored lungis underneath. Most had sports socks on their feet. According to their respective responsibilities, some goalkeepers stayed, some defense and some forwards were ready to play. The match started as the referee blew the whistle. Gradually the atmosphere of the game started heating up. The players performed very well, whether it was hitting or stopping the ball at the opposition post. The performance of the lungi-clad players' mothers captivated the audience. The hooting continued. The sight of Lungi running forward without feeling any discomfort would have been more interesting.

How do they fight in the field wearing lungi? I thought it was easy to play, it was very fun," said Birvikram Thamsuhang, chairman of the rural municipality who was in the audience. Premaya Kerung was the organizer and Sushila Dewan captained the active band. The role of both in the game was different. Sushila played forward while Premaya played the role of goalkeeper.

Sushila's shot was saved three times by Premaya, but she could not hit it the fourth time. Finally, that hit of Sushila became decisive in the victory of the active band. In the competition that lasted for 40 minutes, the organizers tried to score several times, but they did not succeed, and it was stopped by Active Band 1-0.

Dilly Kerung, the former president of Sidden Community Club, the organizer of the competition, said, 'Sisters who are married and have given birth to children, hesitated to leave the field in jerseys and half pants. This was done so that it would be a new use when we said that we wear lungi instead of half pants.'

The winning and runner-up teams and players were awarded lungi along with cash. 5,000 and one set of lungi each to the winner and 3,000 and one set of lungi each to the runner-up. Football has its own rules for

ing. Where players and goalkeepers have different jerseys. Although there is still interest in football in the rural areas, the president of the organizing club, Prakash Kerung, said that football was played in Lungi with the aim of exposing the skills of mothers who are shy to go out on the field and get them used to competing. Premamaya Kerungko, the host's captain, said that even though it sounds difficult, it is easy to play in a lungi.
