Rising Star Football Club Nawalparasi won the 3rd Chief Minister Kohlpur Gold Cup held in Banke's Kohalpur on Sunday.
In the second quarter-final match concluded on Sunday, Nawalparasi won by defeating Sahara Football Club of India in a penalty shootout with a difference of 4-3 goals.
Throughout the game, both teams made several attempts to score. The first half of the game was tied. Both teams failed to score in the second half. Both sides failed to score in the scheduled 90 minutes and the match went to penalties.
Rising Star Football Club Nawalparasi was considered lucky in the penalty. With the excellent performance of goalkeeper Prateek Sunar, Nawalparasi secured a place in the semi-finals.
Goalkeeper Sunar of Rising Star Football Club Nawalparasi was declared Man of the Match . He received five thousand rupees in cash. Eight teams including Ghana and India are participating in the
competition. Ghana Football Club, Sahara Football Club of India, Planning Boys United Club Kathmandu, Lumbini Football Academy Ghorahi Dang, Kakrebihar Football Club Surkhet, Rising Star Football Club Nawalparasi, Rhino Football Club Gandaki Pradesh and Kohalpur Racing Sahara Football Club Banke are participating.
Kohlpur Racing Sahara Football Club Banke organized the competition, the first team will get eight lakh rupees and the second team will get four lakh rupees. The third Chief Minister Kohlpur Gold Cup will be conducted till February 24.
