Sikkim's Jongri FC has won the last quarterfinal match of the second Chief Minister Kapilvastu Tilaurakot Gold Cup football tournament. After defeating Nepal Police Club in a tri-breaker in the match held on Saturday, Jongri FC made it to the last four and completed the quarter-final equation.
Sikkim defeated Police by 4-2 goals in the tri-breaker. As both teams failed to score at the scheduled time, the match was pushed to a try-breaker . Nima Lepcha, Ayuv Subba, John Lepcha and Chopel scored the goals in Sikkim's win. Only Krishna Gurung and Amit Tamata scored for Police. Police's Anup Limbu's shot went out, while Kiran Chaudhary's shot was blocked by Sikkim's goal keeper Pranish Chhetri.
Sikkim's goalkeeper Pranish Chhetri was declared 'Man of the Match'. He received a trophy with 10,000 rupees in cash.
Sikkam will now face Machindra FC in the second semi-final match on Monday. District Football Association President Tilak Thapa said that the first semi-final match will be played between Sankata FC and Threestar at 3 pm on Sunday. The game coordinator Sushil Singh Thakuri said that the winning team of this tournament organized by District Football Association Kapilvastu will get 11 lakh 11 thousand 111 rupees and the second place will get 5 lakh 55 thousand 555 rupees.
The final of the Gold Cup, which started on February 14th, will be held on February 21st at Buddharangshala in Banganga Municipality organized by the District Football Association.
