Gorkhali Rugby Club has won the first Gorkhali Rugby Sevens title. Gorkhali Rugby defeated Tribhuvan Army Club by a score of 12-7 in the competitive final held at Krishnapur Sports Ground in Bharatpur.
At the scheduled time, the score was tied at 7-7. After that, Gorkhali became the champion by scoring golden in extra time. Gorkhali captain Yadu Adhikari scored golden. With the
win, the winning team won 2 lakh rupees. This is the highest amount in the history of Nepali rugby. The runner-up Army Club got Rs 1 lakh. Indian Gorkhali rugby player Javed Hussain became the best player .
Earlier on Saturday, Army defeated Karnali Pradesh with a score of 17-12 in the semi-finals. The score was tied at 12-12 at the scheduled time. In the last period of the game, Karnali missed the opportunity to reach the final when they missed to score 2 in an easy conversion. After that, Army scored golden in extra time and made it to the finals.
In the second semi-final, host Gorkhali Rugby easily beat APF Club by a score of 29-0. From the beginning, Gorkhali club scored one-sided through Habi .
