Candidate Master Sushrut Dahal won the title by scoring 7 points in the intelligence competition held under the first Koshi Sports Festival.
Sushrut, rated 2021 from Jhapa, won the title from the 8-stage match completed on Friday. Close competitor Khotang's 1887 rated Dhiren Rai added 6.5 points and Bucholz was second on the basis of 42.5 points.
In the competition held at Biratnagar-based Marwari Seva Sadan auditorium, Prakashchandra Nepal Bucolz, rated 1932, scored equal 6.5 points and stood third with 38 points.
1922 rated Rishon Thapa was fourth and 1982 rated Rajan Subedi was fifth in the intelligence game organized by Jhapa District Intelligence Association.
The winner of the competition held with the technical support of the Nepal Intellectual Federation won 50,000 rupees, the second 25,000 rupees, the third 15,000 rupees, and the fourth 10,000 rupees.
Former Nepal champion Rajan Subedi scored 6 points and Vishwavijay Ghimire was sixth, Himal Rai with 5.5 points was seventh, Rajendra Rai was eighth, Mission Dahal was ninth and Chudamani Kulung Rai was tenth. They got the same 5000 prize. On the women's side, Shanti Dhimal came first, Sushila Gurung second and Kritisara Adhikari third. For senior players, Vasant Lama and Maniraj Dangi came second. On the unrated side, Kushal Bhandari was the first and Ikesh Nepal was the second. Under 1800 rated, Mahendra Kumar Sambahamfe was first and Bal Bahadur Tamang second, in U-16, Dimsan Shrestha and Andepa Khadka, U-14 Sriyash Chaulagain and Mahesh Dawadi, and in U-12, Praveesha Dawadi and Samwat Khatiwada were first and second.
