Narethanti of Galkot municipality has won the fourth edition of Lucknow Cup volleyball title. On the occasion of the 43rd Magar Association Foundation Day, Galkot won the title by defeating Parvat's Pakuwa Volleyball Association in the open volleyball tournament organized by Nepal Magar Association Baglung.
In the final on Thursday, Galkot won with the score of 22-25, 26-24, 21-19. Although it was a best-of-5 game, Pakua gave a walkover in the third game. After winning the game, Galkot won 81 thousand 181 rupees in cash, trophy and medal. Pakuwa was satisfied with the prize of 41 thousand 141 rupees. 16 teams participated in the competition. Teams from four districts of Dhaulagiri region participated in the game. The organizers have said that the association has spent 4 lakh rupees to organize the
sports competition.
Dujik Thapa won the first place in the men's boys competition organized on the occasion of the Magar Sangh Foundation Day, while Bal Bahadur Ale came second. Thapa got 8 thousand and 4 thousand cash prize. On the women's side, Bhimamaya became the first and Vishnu became the second. 5000 and 2500 cash prizes were awarded to the first and second prize. In the stick drawing competition organized by the
association, the youth club of Baglung Kali won 5,000 and the group of Kul Bahadur Rana came second and won 3,000 cash prize . For women, Vishnu Pun's Samhu became first and Badigad Rural Municipality's group became second. Shyam Kumar Thapa, president of Magar Sangh Baglung, informed that the first place winner got 4 and the second place got 2000 cash prize. Day and sports competition was conducted for 5 days .
