A two-day rugby sevens men's national tournament is going to be held from Friday at the Bharatpur-7 Krishnapur sports ground with the slogan 'Sports for health and sports for the nation'.

Seven teams of Nepal Army and Armed Police will participate in the tournament organized by Gorkhali Rugby Club with the technical support of Nepal Rugby Association, along with one team each from Karnali, Lumbini, Gandaki, Madhesh Province and the host club. Bharatpur Metropolitan Chief Renu Dahal will inaugurate the competition.

The winner of the rugby tournament, which will be held for the second time in Chitwan, will receive 2 lakh rupees and the runner-up will receive 1 lakh rupees. This is the biggest prize money of rugby in Nepal. Suman Paudel, president of Rugby Union Chitwan, said that the best player will be awarded a trophy and an Italian suit.
