Surya Nepal NPGA Tour: Toran's lead remains

Golfer Toranvikram Shahi has retained the top spot in the Surya Nepal NPGA Tour Championship with a score of 4 under 68 on the second day as well. With an overall score of 11 under 133, he is 3 strokes behind Neeraj Tamang.

Pro Neeraj from Dharan made the best score card of the day. He finished second overall with a 5-under 67 with a score of 8-under 136. Tank Bahadur Karki and Dinesh Prajapati, who scored an overall score of 2 under 142, climbed to third. Both finished the match at even par 72.

Nepal's number one Bhuvan Nagarkoti, Ramesh Adhikari and Jairam Shrestha finished joint fifth with an overall score of 1 under 143. Bhuvan scored 2 under 70, Ramesh 1 under 71 and Jairam scored 1 over 73.

Toran finished the match at 3 under 33 with a great performance on the front nine. He bogeyed the first hole but birdied the second, third, seventh and ninth holes. Scored 1-under 35 on the back nine. Despite bogeying the 10th and 12th holes, Toran made a comeback and saved bogeys on the 13th, 17th and 18th holes.

Neeraj, who got the best score, played without a bogey. A fast 4-under 32 on the front nine finished with a 1-under 35 on the back nine. In this process, he birdied 5 holes. He saved one shot in the third hole and hit three consecutive birdies in the fifth to seventh hole. After this, the birdie of the 12th hole created a score of 5 under and put pressure on Toran.

On the amateur side, Rahul Vishwakarma and defending champion Sadbhav Acharya are joint top with an even par of 144. Rahul scored a 3-under 69. He birdied the second, third and seventh holes and bogeyed the eighth hole. The front nine finished in 2-under 34. After this, he saved shots on the 11th and 12th holes. Eagle's success on the par 4 14th hole. But bogeys on the 13th, 16th and 17th holes finished the back nine at 1 under 25. Sadabhav scored an even par 72.

At the end of 36 holes, 22 professional and 4 amateur 26 golfers who scored 13 over 157 have made the cut. For Pro Bhuvan Kumar Rokka, Pradeep Kumar Lama, Sunil KC,  Deepak Magar, Bhu Bahadur Gurung, Balabhadra Rai, Dhan Bahadur Thapa, Ravi Khadka, Suresh Tamang, Shivram Poudel, Bhimsen Chaulagai and Rajendra Shrestha made the cut. Along with Rahul and Sadbhav, Babu Paudel and Kavi Thapa made the cut on the amateur side.
