Men's National Volleyball Tournament: Group stage matches completed, semi-finals today

The men's national volleyball tournament in Rolpa is becoming interesting since Saturday. The group stage matches have ended since Monday, and among the participating teams, the host Sun Star team and the Madhesh Pradesh team have been eliminated from the group stage.

In the first match on Monday, the team from Koshi region defeated Madhesh region. In those matches, Koshi won against Madhesh in straight sets of 25-11, 25-12 and 25-18. 

In the second match, host team Sun Star was defeated by Nepal Police Club by a wide margin. The game score ratio of these two teams was 25-14, 25-10 and 25-13. The host team was defeated by Police Club in straight sets. With these results, the Madhesh Pradesh team was eliminated from the group stage along with the host team. Earlier, the Karnali state team was also eliminated.

Monday's last group stage match between Lumbini Pradesh team and Tribhuvan Army Club was completed. Tribhuvan Army Club won three of the five matches in the interesting competition. The match between Army Club and Lumbini Pradesh team was completed with the ratio of 25-23, 27-29, 25-17 and 23-25 ​​points.

Lumbini's quicker-blocker Vikas Giri was injured during the match. After Lochan replaced Giri, the game continued. There was a dispute between the army and the Lumbini region when the game was being played in an interesting manner. In the fifth set, Lumbini got 14 points and Army got 15 points. At that time, the atmosphere became very tense when there was a dispute. The coach of Lumbini used abusive words while talking to the referee, and the referee gave a red card against the coach. 

Spectators are excited to watch the national game in the second national men's volleyball tournament organized to celebrate the 13th anniversary of the Sunstar Youth Club of Rolpa. Among the seven teams that participated in the competition, Nepal Police Club, Tribhuvan Army Club, Koshi Pradesh Team and Lumbini Pradesh Team have confirmed the semi-finals. 

On Tuesday, there will be semi-final matches between Lumbini State team and Nepal Police Club and Koshi State team and Tribhuvan Army Club.

The winning men's volleyball team will win the Sun-Star trophy with Rs 5 lakh. The runner-up will win Rs 250,000 and the third runner-up will win Rs 1 lakh. 50,000 will be awarded to the consolation team. Purna KC, president of the club, said that the best players, spikers, blockers, setters and defenders will also be given cash prizes.
