Daga United Football Club Bhutan made it to the semifinals of the Bhadrapur Jhapa Gold Cup Invitational Knockout Football Tournament on Monday. The Bhutanese team defeated the departmental team APF Football Club by 3-2 in the fourth quarter-final match at the Mechi stadium on Monday. Daga United will face Jhapa-11 FC in the semi-finals.

In the 34th minute of the game, Lakpa Pakhrin scored and gave the lead to the Bhutanese team. Suraj Rasaili took the ball from three APF defenders inside the penalty area and passed it to Lakpa. Lakpa beautifully converted it into a goal. Hemraj Bhujel doubled Bhutan's lead in the 36th minute with an excellent one-touch pass from Vasant Newar.

APF's Dipesh Dhimal scored in the 59th minute of the game and tried to bring the team back into the game. He scored a goal through Manikumar Lama's corner kick. However, Bhutan took the lead again in the 63rd minute. Hemraj Bhujel beat two defenders to make the Bhutanese team 3-1.

APF had a penalty chance in injury time. After Bhutan's Jamso Tenjing fouled Bipin Shrestha, the referee awarded a penalty. Suman Shrestha scored a penalty to make the game 3-2. Bhutan's Hemraj Bhujel was declared the player of the match. He received 21 thousand rupees.

Bhutan coach Dorjee Khandu said the match against APF was a struggle. He indicated that he may change players in the semi-finals. APF coach Malin Rai said, "The performance of the team has been affected due to having to play with tired players who came from the Aitarba KP Oli Cup." ANFA said that the players did not get enough time to rest due to the scheduling of the competition. In the first semi-final on Tuesday, host Bhadrapur Blazers and Kourn Bazar Pragati Sangh of Bangladesh will meet.
