Church Boys Club has won the title of the seventh edition of the Bagmati Gold Cup National Football Tournament. The Church Boys won the title by defeating the previous winners Machindra Club 1-0 in the final match at Shaheed Smriti Stadium located in Bagmati-4 on Monday.
Samir Tamang became the hero to win the title of Church Boys. The goal he scored in the 47th minute of the game was decisive. Tamang was declared the man of the match. He received Rs.10,000. Along with the
title, the church boys received a trophy with 10 lakh rupees, while the runner-up Machindra settled for 5 lakh rupees. Church Boys won the Gold Cup title in the first participation. Machindra defeated Three Star and Church Boys entered the final by defeating APF. Santosh Khatri of Church Boys was declared the best player of the
competition. He received 1 lakh 1 thousand 1 hundred and 1 rupees. Best Goalkeeper Tekendra Thapa of Church Boys, Defender Devendra Tamang of Machindra, Midfielder Roshan Rana Magar of Machindra, Forward Sameer Tamang of Church Boys and Coach Suman of Church Boys was declared the best. All the best in the
category have received 25-25 thousand rupees each. The tournament was organized by the Sports Development Committee of Bagmati Rural Municipality.
