Shiv Rayamazhi and Pooja followed the winner towards 5 km
Men's Mingmar Singhi Tamang and women's Santoshi Shrestha became the champions in the 10-milometer 'Run to Shine' national race competition of Sine Resunga Development Bank. Both the players have received a cash prize of one lakh rupees each. On the occasion of its 17th anniversary, the bank organized a running competition worth Rs 5 lakh on Sunday.
In the competition held in Butwal, Santoshi completed the prescribed distance in 36 minutes and 21 seconds. Mingmar finished in 31 minutes and 53 seconds. Purnarajya Lakshmi Neupane became second, Pushpa Bhandari third, Asha Rawal fourth and Narayani Bhandari fifth. On the men's side, Nageshwar Ayer was second, Ganesh Singh Rawat was third, Sanjeev Nepali was fourth and Akkal Baduwal was fifth. The second in both categories received Rs 40,000, the third received Rs 20,000, the fourth received Rs 15,000 and the fifth received Rs 10,000.
Shiv Rayamazhi and Pooja have become the winners in the five kilometer race . In men, Ajay Pandey became second, Mukesh Tharu third and Premlal Kohar fourth. For women, Tejmaya Kunwar was second, Prakriti Ghimire was third and Pratibha Kewar was fourth. Similarly, Mankumari Rayamazhi has become first and Goma Subedi second in women's category. On the men's side, Yuv Bahadur Rana stood first, Gobind Thapa stood second, Keshar Singh Mahat stood third and Tek Bahadur Budhatok stood fourth. The winners of both categories have received Rs. 15,000, the second, Rs. 10,000, the third, Rs. 5,000, and the fourth, Rs. 2,500.
1,600 people registered their names in three categories and 600 people competed. The competition was inaugurated at the bank's head office in Kalikanagar with the music of Bandabaza.
The race started from the central office of the bank at Kalikanagar, Butwal and reached Manigram Chowk and ended at the central office. The
competition was approved by the National Sports Council and Nepal Athletics Association. Prizes were distributed to the winning runners by international Olympic winning runner Baikunth Manandhar, the goodwill ambassador of the competition, state parliamentarian and former minister Bishnu Panthi, bank president Thaneshwar Paudel and bank's chief executive officer Prakash Paudel.
