Nepali football coach and former player Hariom Shrestha passed away on Sunday. He died while being taken to the hospital due to health problems. He was 54 years old.
According to the former president of All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) Karmachiring Sherpa, he had returned home after treatment from Gangalal Hospital only the day before his death. He has made a great contribution to Nepali domestic football as a player and coach.
Shrestha, who played for Nepal's age group national team, started his playing career with Star Club. He played club football for RCT, NRT and Manang Marsyangdi.
Similarly, he also spent a long time as a coach of women's national football team of different age groups. Lately he was a coach of NRT.
The club recently played the Budhasubba Gold Cup under his leadership. He was brought to Kathmandu after suffering a heart attack while staying in Dharan during the competition.
