Bhadrapur Blazers defeated Nepal Police Club on Friday and decided the semifinals of Bhadrapur Jhapa Gold Cup Knockout Football Tournament. Bhadrapur beat Police 2-1 in the quarter finals at Mechi Stadium.

The first half ended in a goalless draw. In the 40th minute of the first half, Milan Rai's shot bounced off the crossbar. In the 45th minute, Hemant Shrestha of Police saved from the goal line. However, in the second half, Bhadrapur performed an excellent game and scored two goals. 

In the 72nd minute, Milan Rai scored through Ashish Chapagai's pass. Two minutes after the first goal, Man Bahadur Pariyar of the police scored a penalty and gave Bhadrapur a 2-0 lead.

Police tried to get back into the game in the second half through Prashant Kunwar's goal. After that, he could not score more goals. Player of the match was Milan Rai. He got 21 thousand rupees and a trophy. Bhadrapur's assistant coach Arjun Rai claimed that after the first half ended goalless, he changed his strategy and managed to win. Suman Subedi, the coach of the police, admitted that he suffered defeat due to weakness in the defense line. 

The second quarter-final will be between Jhapa 11 FC and Church Boys United on Saturday.
