Kriti Dal's Ashok first in 10 km race

On the occasion of Mahashivratri and 262nd Army Day, Ashok Sunar of Kritidal Gana won first place in the men's 10 km race competition under 'Run for Fun' organized by Shree No. 22 Bahini Adda and Taradal Gana on Saturday.

On Saturday morning, Sunar became the first by crossing the prescribed distance from Bahini No. 22 to Shankar in Tilottama in 39 minutes and 16 seconds. Dheeraj Yogi of Gorakhdal Gana came second after completing the prescribed distance in 39 minutes and 22 seconds. Navin Pariyar of Kalibhakti Gana got the third place by covering the distance in 40 minutes. 

For women, Sharmeela Khadka of Tara Dal Ganaka became the first by crossing the prescribed distance in 46 minutes 22 seconds, Rekha Ghartimar of Kriti Dal Ganaka was second and Sunita Vick of Gorakhdal Ganaka was third after completing the distance in 47 minutes 46 seconds .

Ram Goudel, Shanti Model Mavika of Butwal, became the first by crossing the prescribed distance in 23 minutes and 41 seconds for students in the 5 km race under 'Run for Fun'. Savin Sunar of Ujirsinh University finished second in 24 minutes and 49 seconds and Dev Bahadur Chhetri of Oxford University finished the distance in 27 minutes and 13 seconds. Similarly, Jharna Periyar of Ujirsingh Mavi was the first by crossing the prescribed distance of 5 km race for female students in 32 minutes and 57 seconds, Anushka Acharya of Sainik Residential Mavi was second in 34 minutes and 26 seconds and Rachna Aryal of Ujirsingh Mavi was the third after crossing the distance in 36 minutes and 54 seconds. 

Nepali Army's No. 22 Bahinipati Assistant Rathi Purushottam Khadka was the first in the five-kilometer walk. The head of the government office of Rupandehi, the head of the security agency, representatives of civil society, people's representatives, social workers and private sector leaders participated in the speech. Assistant Rathi Khadka said that ``Run for Fun'' program was organized to improve relations with citizens after Shivratri and Army Day. He awarded medals, certificates and cash prizes to the winners of the race.

Star Dal Ganapati Suvarna Khadka said that the program was organized to spread the message that not only the security personnel should be physically fit, but also the common citizens should be aware of their health and to expand the relationship between the army and the citizens.
