Nepal APF School Kirtipur 'A' has won the second inter-school Inspector General of Armed Police Running Trophy football competition.
APF School defeated Sainik Residential College Sallaghari by 5-0 in the final on Thursday at the home ground. APF led by captain Deepak Gurung had a strong performance in the final. Taking the lead from Vivekananda Kushwaha's header, APF's Deepak scored two goals with a long-range shot. Vikas Bohra also scored two goals. Ishan Tamang of army parents became the player of the final. APF's Roshan Budha was the best goalkeeper, Tenzing Sherpa was the best player, Vikas Bohra was the top scorer. Fair Play The team succeeded in becoming Bright Horizon Children's Home. Along with the
title, APF received 60,000 rupees and runner-up Sainik Amami received 20,000 rupees. The winners beat Nepal Police School Sanga 4-0 and Sainik beat Bright Horizon 2-1 in the semi-finals. Police School came third and got 10,000.
16 from the valley, 1 each from Kavre and Banke districts Inspector General of Armed Police Raju Aryal, school principal Yuvraj Parajuli and others awarded the winning players of the 18 school participation competition.
