The departmental team APF of the Armed Police Force has entered the semi-finals of the Bagmati Gold Cup national football tournament of the seventh edition. On Wednesday, they entered the semi-finals of the APF tournament by losing 1-0 in the third quarter-final match at Shahid Smriti Stadium located in Bagmati-4.
Sujan Kumar Pulami scored the decisive goal in the 83rd minute to give APF the win. Pulami entered the field in place of Anish Maharjan in the 81st minute of the match. APF's Manikumar Lama was declared the man of the match. He received Rs.10,000. Earlier, APF defeated Bharatpur FC and entered the quarterfinals, while Sankata got a place in the quarterfinals directly after getting a win.
In the Gold Cup, Sankata and APF are the runners-up teams of the previous edition. APF lost to Machindra Club in the sixth edition and became the runner-up, while Sankata became the runner-up after losing to Cameroon's Bhutanese Sports in the fifth edition.
