A Division team Machindra Club reached the semi-finals of the 15th Invitational Control Itahari Gold Cup football tournament after defeating Jhapa Eleven FC. In the third quarter-final held at Itahari Stadium on Monday, Machindra secured a place in the last four by winning a hard-fought 1-0 win over Jhapa.

Mallik Bamide and Yusuf scored the decisive goal in Machindra's victory. Yusuf made use of Aditya Shakya's pass in the 31st minute of the match. Jhapa's defense player Peter Segun could not clear the ball and the goal scored by Yusuf became decisive. Machindra's trip to the semi-finals was confirmed. Yusuf was also the man of the match. He got 10 thousand.

Machindra, who lost to Threestar in the semi-finals of the Aha Rara Gold Cup, will now compete against United Kharsang Football Club UKFC in the semi-finals on Wednesday. On Tuesday, the last quarter-final will be contested between former winners Church Boys United and Dharan Football Club.
