Eastpole has won the title of the 13th Loyalty Cup inter-school football tournament. In the final held on Monday at the host Loyalty Academy ground, Eastpole defeated Little Angels 3-1 in a tiebreaker and became the new champions.
After the match ended in a 1-1 tie, the decision of the match was made directly by penalty shootout. Little Angels is the winner of the tournament in 2074, 2075 and 2076. Espot took an early lead of 1-0 with an own goal at the scheduled time. After Ayush Thapa of Little Angels returned the goal, the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
Chewang Lama, Sumit Karki and Rujan Tamang of Eastpole scored in the penalty shootout. Only Vigyanraj Bhandari managed to score from Little Angels. In the
competition, Vigyanraj Bhandari of Little Angels was declared the best forward, Subas Tamang of Chelsea World School was declared the best defender, Usum Thapa of Loyalty was declared the best midfielder, Vivas Thing of Eastpole was declared the best goalkeeper and Sudarshan Ghimire of Eastpole was declared the best coach.
Ayush Thapa of Little Angels topped the list of top scorers with 14 goals throughout the tournament. Gateway Academy won the trophy for the undisputed team.
The winner was awarded by Kathmandu Pabson President Navraj Bhatt, Loyalty School Management Committee Member Sriram Chhetri, Loyalty Principal Birendra Kurumwang, Loyalty Vice Principal Hari Dahal and others.
