The organizer Rashtriya Jagriti Club has been eliminated from the first stage of the 15th edition of the invitation control Itahari Gold Cup football tournament. In the opening match on Saturday, the visiting team lost 2-1 against United Kharsang Football Club (UKFC). UKFC, who reached the semi-finals, avenged their defeat in the last edition.
In the last edition, UKFC lost 5-4 to the hosts in a penalty shootout.
Satyam Sharma and Hemraj Bhujel scored to win UKFC at Itahari Stadium. Rashtriya Jagurti's foreign player Alex scored a goal.
