Chelsea World School reached the quarterfinals of the 13th Loyalty Cup inter-school football tournament on Friday.

Chelsea won 3 games in a row at the host Loyalty Academy and reached the quarter-finals as the winner of Group A. Chelsea beat Loyalty 'A' 4-0, Trijyoti 2-1 and Himalayan 2-0. The match between Trijyoti and Himalayan on Saturday will decide the Group 'A' runners-up.

Eastpole reached the quarterfinals by becoming the winner and Gateway Academy runners-up from Group 'C'. Eastpole beat Peace Point 4-0 and Gateway Academy 2-0. In this group with only 3 teams, Gateway got a walkover from Peace Point.

Himalayan Boarding School beat Loyalty 'A' 2-1 and Trijyoti beat Loyalty 'A' 2-0. National Sports Council Vice President Dhruv Acharya inaugurated the tournament. Vice President Acharya emphasized that school sports should be given priority as the talented players of the future can be identified only through school level competitions.
