Jhapa's Krishna Prasad Sigdel has won a silver medal in the 29th Thailand Masters Athletics Tournament.

Sigdel from Jhapa won the silver medal in the long jump in the 55-59 age group by jumping 4.90 meters in the competition held in Chiang Rai, the capital city of Bangkok. 

He expressed happiness after winning a medal in the game on Thursday. "I did not imagine that I would win a medal. So many players from big countries participated. I am happy," he said to the media after the victory.

Nepali team of 11 people including 9 players and 2 officials arrived in Bangkok to participate in this tournament which started from 12th February. Players from 22 nations are participating in the tournament. The competition will run till the 16th.
